Duclair to Rouen

Early start after not a huge amount of sleep, but it meant we arrived in very good time with the tide... Dare I say breaking the speed limit of 7.55kts - slight worry when a port pontoon started chasing us through the approaches to Rouen, but it was just a stevedore giving us the thumbs up on the boat!!

Easy mooring in Rouen port de plaisance, a couple of bystanders to watch J making a hash of another rope throw, not a one offering a hand but the sun is shining, and we're bows to and ready for a good shower and a good nights sleep!

Great facilities here - washing machine and dryer, free Wifi, water and electricity etc, for the exhorbitant price of 11€ per night. And the helpful port captain will print off our inland waterways vignette this afternoon (after his 5 hour lunch break!) so we are legal for the ongoing trip!

A wee glass of champers tonight to celebrate Dad's 70th - such a shame we just missed it, sending love xxx
