Crossing the Channel

4th September

The boat is ready and crew on hand for the planned trip - 1am departure Wednesday morning to take advantage of the favourable tides at either end... Basically, the boat will catch a ride on the outgoing tide from Chichester Harbour and on the other side incoming to Le Havre.

Roxy chose now to poison herself so J & R will stay in the UK until she's better, and Ali will be accompanied by Doug and Cliff (RYA instructor and cynical sea-dog) with Dave stepping in as a far more able replacement of Jo.

Having learned the 'proper stowing procedures' the hard way, only the spice drawer took a hit on the journey, which was at times rougher than expected, so the guys arrived in Le Havre at around 4pm local time - pretty tired, but a successful journey!

Roxy was released from vet custody and will be fit for travel in time to catch the Friday ferry so we can get on board and start the onward trip! Youpi!
