Preparation!

So excited to be preparing for the Green's arrival; sorry to say that despite careers in the superyacht industry, this attention to detail was not applied to boat preparation!

A lifted the floor hatch to reassure the engines on their first day off in a while, and the resulting odor was decidedly 'black' :-( A small leak requiring a strong constitution to get in there and fix it, but fix it he did! And then, bless him, hand pump the bilge into containers for proper disposal... My hero!
From there it was a blitz with the hoover (a hilarious little beastie we found in a locker under the floor in the main cabin), and making the beds in the forward cabin. Hope they're more comfy than they look!

When you only travel on the river, it is your sole reference, and we had no idea Lagny was quite so tricky to navigate by car, so when the Greens, bringing us our van from the UK, were more than an hour later than the expected arrival time we were releived to get a text - even if it was to say they had parked up a couple of kms away and were proceeding on foot! J & Roxy set off at a sprint to meet them, and sent them back to the boat with Roxy to stretch legs, while trying to get the van to the boat... Interesting but it all worked out in the end!

And so we have our guests, and our van (which holds winter clothes and heaters - yippee!) and gifts - ooooh, the gifts! A huge block of Vintage cheddar and the makings of a cream tea from our neice Emma's first birthday!! Yummy! Now we are ready for a wee trip tomorrow!
