More locks today, some alone, others with péniches/barges, large and small.
We fought hard to overtake a real snail called 'Namur', only to have to wait for him at the next lock - still he waved us out before him, which was nice! They were all gaga over Roxy in her jacket so maybe she serves a purpose after all!!
Got the hang of these locks though, single roped... Something tells me it'll be trickier in the little non-commercial ones later on!
We arrived at Port l'Ilon in good time - just before the port captain shut up shop, and he leant A a bike to head into town for a bit of shopping. Lovely quiet lake, moored next to a similar boat to ours (but larger) which is in serious need of attention, quite sad really. In fact there were a few forgotten hulks at this port, which has been declared bankrupt and being taken over by the council for development.
Maybe that is why they're so stingy with the facilities - 5A on shore power meant we blew the fuse even putting the kettle on! And when on Sunday morning we asked to fill the fuel tanks, they're out of diesel!
